Way way back in Sandwell history there used to be two types of “ranger”. There were “green rangers” who looked after Sandwell Vallley and other wildlife areas, and there were “brown rangers” who were basically the old role of the parkie who locked up the boroughs gates and cemeteries.
The brown rangers wore brown uniforms and were visible at their peak at the annual Sandwell Show and Bonfire night, both held within Sandwell Valley. At this point in time they did not have any real powers but were there as some type of presence.
I would add that both were absolutely useless in doing anything for wildlife in terms of rescue, as I know to my experience.
Then something changed for the worst. As the green rangers were decimated, the brown rangers morphed into the so called “street wardens”. This appeared with new legislation allowing certain individuals to fine members of the public for littering, usually fag ends in town centres, and this moved them out of parks and onto the streets. It was at this point that the disastrous Labour council decided to put on events at Sandwell Valley every week, increasing footfall as any sense of personal security deteriorated. These are facts.

Sandwell’s street wardens made the national press in 2009 when one of them decided to fine a single mother for feeding the birds and quite rightly was widely mocked and derided for doing so. At this point the concept of wardens became a cunt with a card reader, there only to issue you with a fine and a target for doing so. Appalling political leadership as dodgy as a bent Bill Thomas, in every sense of the word, cheque. 😛
Under the grotesque fat Jabba Darren Cooper, these parasites only increased their attacks on members of the public waiting to pounce, acting as this corrupt twats personal Praetorian guard. If only one of them had been a Sikh bodyguard as per Indira Gandhi, we may have been excused his wretched reign, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. Cooper used them repeatedly to intimidate Julian Saunders, aka The Sandwell Skidder at meetings, demonstrations and other events where they also lied for him. It was a disgrace that council officers were tasked with doing this but not unexpected.
I myself was also targeted by the former parks manager (JS1) associated with the goose cull when I had exposed his lies and corruption, also in the national press. Here is one email from a subject access request where he asks for a number of wardens to attend the scrutiny meeting following the successful petition. This was a misuse of the service and an attempt to gain information.
Sandwell council redacted this no doubt to protect him, I did not.
Perhaps they would have been ideal to stop people gaining entry into the disastrous free for all Brunswick Park firework show in 2015 he personally fucked up, but hey ho. 😆
In 2018, the regime at SMBC only got even worse with a control freak at the helm backed by a CEO who covered his back and did not act as an impartial officer. Thus the concept of “environmental protection officer”, or EPO was born, that is still around today.
You can see that the picture below shows what became of a Sandwell parkie, basically resembling a plastic pig, or a handjob with a high viz.
The role outlined above was an utter façade in what some of these individuals got up to and it is clear at this point that council officers were being used to confuse the public to supplement a terrible police force now being controlled by the political class in the form of a useless twat “police commissioner” role. Look who is at the centre of the picture, and how these flankers are spread out to guard the couple.
Even at this stage, people were asking genuine and legitimate questions as to how do you contact these people to act in real time, to real time events. And the answer- you can’t, just fill out an online form- absolutely useless!
Nothing gets picked up, unless you are an SMBC manager or councillor, in which case it becomes how hard do you want us to suck?

But let us take a look at what SMBC actually advertised this role as in a job vacancy in 2020 and what it tells us about the EPO and their supposed role today.

Lots of talk about tackling anti social behaviour, but under what powers?
In recent times, the role of the EPO and the useless powers they actually have has been exposed particularly in Sandwell Valley. For years we have called on this council to implement its bye laws and deter the types of asb they spout on about but do nothing to tackle above, only to be met with political dithering and outright brick walls from the useless WFH GMB/Unison/Unite officers who run this council along their Fabian paymaster lines.
One of the recurring themes is that these black shirts have no contact number for the public to call if they see asb in progress, just like this was called out when the role was first created, this crap council and its senior management appear to have not grasped this point. Or is it the case that the union shysters want it that way, because that would actually involve doing a days work and not a days shirk sitting in a van on a car park waiting for a dog to drop a turd from its arse so they could issue an FPN, but only to a little old lady and never a bull chested bloke?
The signs below are an utter joke in this regard.
The key piece of EPO legislation, and yet no number to ring or means for the public to report breaches
This farce, where some signs are pointing away from sight is a typical sandwell council fuck up, and it cannot be defended, with the EPOS hiding away from public accountability and service. What is the point of filling in an online form to report a barbeque when it will only be picked up hours or days later and the smoke gone?
Recently I saw WMP and the fire service doing the job of the absent EPOS who I believe had actually called them to extinguish the “tusken raiders” barbeque- wow that’s partnership shirking!

What has triggered my ire with this service, aside from ALL of the reports I have attempted to make to them to be totally ignored, is that the son of JS1, JS2, has used the uniformed guardsmen just like his father to cause me problems, in this case rescuing birds. A number of botulism birds appeared on one site and I made attempts to catch them using a dinghy. Whilst SMBC officers stood by, and did nothing whatsoever to help any of these birds, including ones near to the edge, I got off my arse to try to save them, without any help as usual from ANY SMBC staff.
So imagine my surprise when two of the black shirts turned up telling me they had been given instruction by the son of Satch to get evidence of me in a dinghy doing so. What category does this fall under exactly in their remit or legislation? I have asked that question , currently being fobbed off with bullshit, most likely by the useless Ben Percival, the man who stalled any progress on the fishing policy and who in that regard has blood on his hands. I also pointed out that I have seen one individual repeatedly fishing from a dinghy in a certain area and queried if they have followed up on my intelligence on that? That’s the trouble with Sandwell council, they hide behind the name these days never putting their name to anything. ALL OF THE BIRDS I RESCUED THAT DAY HAVE SURVIVED AND RECOVERED, NO THANKS TO ANY EMPLOYEE OF SANDWELL COUNCIL
